Jesy Nelson admitted that she turned into a ‘slob’ at the start of the lockdown but the novelty quickly wore off.

The 29-year-old Black Magic songstress was talking about her health and wellbeing on the Steths, Drugs & Rock ’n’ Roll podcast on June 14 when she made the admission.

The popular podcast is hosted by Strictly star Dr Ranj Singh as well as medics Dr Sara Kayat, Dr Zoe Williams and Dr Tijion Esho.

During the weekly show, the experts are joined by a celebrity guest to chat about the latest news stories during a ‘health consultation’.

On Jesy’s show, the doctors spoke about wellbeing, health phobias as well as the Black Lives Matter movement that band mate Leigh-Anne Pinnock recently went to.

The Little Mix star explained that during the first few weeks of the lockdown she watched lots of Netflix and ate whatever she wanted, but was eventually drawn to the routine of exercise.

“I was like, this is a dream. I can do nothing. I can be a slob at home,” Jesy told the medical experts.

“I can eat what I want. So I was literally living my best life for the first two weeks. I was watching Netflix, I was being such a tramp.”

The novelty of lazing around the house quickly wore off however, and Jesy instead turned her determination to exercise.

She added: “I felt really rubbish in myself and thought ‘I need to get my s**t together’. I started exercising and when I exercise, that mentally makes me feel so much better.”

“If I don’t exercise and I feel a bit sluggish, I mentally don’t feel good.”

“I do go through times when I’m a slob, but the majority of the time I try to eat healthily and exercise a lot so I’m fit and healthy for when I go on stage.”

The singer has since been making the most of the lockdown with her best pal and temporary flatmate Charlotte Driver in Essex.

It came shortly after the the Little Mix beauty called it quits on her relationship with beau Chris Hughes at the start of the lockdown.

Despite her split, Jesy recently had lots of cause to celebrate as she rang in her 29th birthday with a lavish cake as the lockdown restrictions began to ease.
