Celtic are close to securing Southampton winger Mohammed Elyounoussi on a new one-year loan deal.

The Norwegian international spent last season at Parkhead, scoring seven goals in 20 appearances.

And, despite rival interest from Real Betis, the 25-year-old has opted to return to Glasgow rather than move to Spain, with Celtic sources optimistic that a deal will be concluded this week.

Celtic are also pressing Southampton for an answer on goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

The former England keeper is the number one choice to return to the club either on loan, or via a permanent deal if the price is right.

With Scott Bain the only experienced first team keeper on the books, Celtic’s need is pressing – with three friendly games in France pencilled in for mid-July.

Wigan’s Scotland number one David Marshall features on a list of alternative options, with former England keeper Joe Hart.
