Star of The Dick Van Dyke Show and Toy Story 4 Carl Reiner dies aged 98juin 30, 2020
Carl Reiner has died at the age of 98.
According to TMZ the entertainer – whose showbiz career spanned seven decades – died on Monday night at his Beverley Hills home surrounded by family.
Reiner was best known as the creator, producer, writer and actor on The Dick Van Dyke Show in the 1960s.
He later formed a comedy duo with Mel Brooks in 2000 Year Old Man and moved into films.
Reiner co-wrote and directed some of Steve Martin’s most successful comedies.
He also appeared in many silver screen hits himself including the popular Ocean’s film franchise as Saul Bloom.
Over his career, Reiner was awarded some of the industries top honours including nine Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award and The Mark Twain Prize.
One of his last roles was providing the voice of Carl Reineroceros in Toy Story 4.
