Zayn Malik’s ex Rebecca Ferguson shares heartfelt message to pregnant Gigi Hadidjuillet 7, 2020
The X Factor runner-up has commented on the couple’s exciting baby news as Gigi, 25, prepares to give birth in September.
Liverpudlian Rebecca, 33, sent her ex’s girlfriend her best wishes and revealed she doesn’t want to “disrespect” the catwalk model.
Touching on the subject lightly, she told OK! magazine: “I’m really mindful about what I say, for Gigi.
“If I was pregnant, I’d never want to hear my baby father’s ex talking about me and my pregnancy.”
Rebecca made a sweet gesture to the couple, adding: “So all I’ll say is, any baby news is good news because it means a lovely little life is coming into the world.
“I don’t want to disrespect Gigi on their lovely relationship.”
Rebecca once dated Zayn, 27, in 2011 for four months when she was a 24-year-old mum-of-two, and the former One Direction star was 18.
The singer admitted she had to pay his way a lot, despite the star now being a millionaire after 1D’s incredible success.
Rebecca and Zayn also received heavy criticism for their six-year age gap, but it didn’t stop them from having a brief fling.
It’s reported that they split due to focusing on their careers, with Rebecca telling Sunday Mirror: “I’m happy I’ve decided to be single – my children, my family and my career are now my world.”
Meanwhile, Zayn met supermodel Gigi in 2015 – where they were spotted leaving Justin Bieber’s American Music Awards holing hands, according to reports.
And they have been inseparable since announcing their pregnancy news.
But it hasn’t always been smooth for the couple, who began dating in 2016 before suddenly splitting up in 2018.
The pair later confirmed they were back together in February this year, before announcing a baby is on the way in April.
At first, the couple kept their news under wraps, but Gigi confirmed the pregnancy while on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Gigi’s mother Yolanda Hadid later let slip the baby’s due date.
She told Dutch news outlet RTL Boulevard: “I’m excited to become Oma [grandmother] in September, especially after I lost my mom so recently.
“But this is the beauty of life, one soul leaves us and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed.”
