California’s famous Napa Valley battling spread of wildfires

Firefighters on Sunday were attempting to contain the Glass Fire, which broke out in the early hours and has now consumed 2,500 acres – forcing people from their homes and destroying a vineyard. Chateau Boswell (left and top right), a 40-year-old family winery, was ablaze on Sunday night, and 64 wineries were within the evacuation or evacuation warning area, officials said, with the Glass Mountain Inn also engulfed by flames. High winds and hot, dry conditions were hampering efforts to put out the fire, which on Sunday night was zero per cent contained.
